The Gorge (2025), directed by Scott Derrickson, is a genre-blending science fiction thriller that intertwines elements of action, romance, and horror. The film follows Levi Kane (Miles Teller), a former U.S. Marine sniper, and Drasa (Anya Taylor-Joy), a covert operative from Lithuania, who are assigned to guard opposite sides of a vast, highly classified gorge. Their mission is to prevent any unknown entities from emerging, but they are forbidden from communicating with each other or the outside world.

As the months pass, Levi and Drasa find ways to connect across the chasm, sharing brief interactions and developing a bond despite the isolation and the eerie environment. They are stationed in towers equipped with advanced weaponry to defend against monstrous creatures known as "The Hollow Men." These beings are the result of a World War II-era bioweapons research facility located within the gorge, which was abandoned after a catastrophic contaminant leak. The facility has since been maintained by Darklake, a private defense corporation, which has been extracting hybrid samples in hopes of creating super soldiers.

The situation escalates when Levi is forced into the gorge after a sabotage attempt, and Drasa follows to rescue him. Together, they discover the full extent of the horrors within the gorge and uncover the sinister plans of their superiors. Faced with a catastrophic threat, they must work together to prevent a global disaster.

The Gorge explores themes of isolation, trust, and the ethical dilemmas faced by individuals in extreme circumstances. The film combines suspenseful action sequences with a developing romance, set against a backdrop of a mysterious and dangerous environment. While the film has received mixed reviews, with some critics praising the performances and atmosphere, others have pointed out tonal inconsistencies and a lack of depth in the narrative.
