Set in the Pacific Northwest, the narrative follows veteran FBI agent Terry Husk (Jude Law) as he reopens a dormant field office in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Initially seeking a quieter caseload and hoping to reconcile with his estranged family, Husk becomes embroiled in a series of violent crimes, including bank robberies and bombings, that appear financially motivated. However, upon investigating further, Husk discovers that these crimes are orchestrated by a domestic terrorist group led by Bob Mathews (Nicholas Hoult), who aims to incite a race war and overthrow the federal government.

As Husk collaborates with local authorities, including Deputy Jamie Bowen (Tye Sheridan), he uncovers the group's plans to amass a war chest exceeding $4 million. The film culminates in a tense standoff between the FBI and Mathews' faction, leading to a bloody confrontation that underscores the persistent threat of domestic extremism.

The Order premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in August 2024 and was released in the United States on December 6, 2024. The film has received mixed reviews, with praise for its performances and direction, but some criticism for its reliance on genre conventions and lack of depth in exploring its themes.
